If you need a longer stay (but still under 90 days), you should specify that in your application and ensure your documents (like insurance) cover the full period.

The embassy will usually issue the visa for the duration you requested. For example, if you plan a 2-week trip, your visa may be valid for those 2 weeks (or a bit more). Even if you get a multi-entry visa valid for several months, you still cannot exceed 90 days total in Schengen during any 180-day period.

You must submit your application at a VFS Global Portugal Visa Application Centre in the UAE. VFS has offices in Dubai and Abu Dhabi handling Portugal visas.
